Nigerian Gas Association Announces New President and Executive Council Following Leadership Transition

The Nigerian Gas Association (NGA) has announced a change in its leadership following a high-level handover ceremony held recently in Lagos.Association

Mrs. Yetunde Taiwo, General Manager, Integrated Gas Development at FIRST Exploration & Petroleum Development Company, has assumed office as President of the Association, succeeding Mr. Akachukwu Nwokedi, Company Secretary/General Counsel at Nigeria LNG Limited.

The transition ushers in the NGA Executive Council for the 2026–2029 tenure, comprising senior industry leaders with extensive experience across the gas value chain: Yetunde Taiwo – President, Olufisayo Duduyemi, FCA – 1st Vice President, Engr. Chichi Emenike, FNSE – 2nd Vice President, Oladeji Olaoti – Secretary General, Olabode Ogundipe – Deputy Secretary General, Ademola Adefarasin – Financial Secretary, Michael Iwuoha – Legal Adviser, Osaze Isesele – Publicity Secretary, Akachukwu Nwokedi – Ex-Officio, Dr. Excel Theophilus Ukpohor, FIMC – Ex-Officio

This leadership transition reflects the Association’s continued commitment to strong governance, industry representation, and the advancement of Nigeria’s gas sector as a cornerstone of national economic development and energy transition.

The incoming President expressed her commitment to consolidating the Association’s strategic direction, strengthening stakeholder engagement, and driving initiatives that will unlock the full value of Nigeria’s gas resources. The outgoing President noted that the NGA has continued to evolve as a leading industry platform and expressed confidence in the new leadership to sustain and expand its impact.

The Nigerian Gas Association remains the premier body representing stakeholders across Nigeria’s gas industry, dedicated to promoting sustainable growth, investment, and policy advocacy.
